Integrity Horse Trailer Living Quarters Nose Sheet Replacement

Because Action RV is well known nationaly for specializing in aluminum trailer collision repairs, the owner of this Integrity horse trailer asked us to make the repairs on this trailer. replacing exterior sheets on horse trailers is always a labor intensive project because most of these trailers are built in a modular fashion and almost always from the inside out, which makes it very tricky to end up with a flawless repair. Because this trailer has a living quarters in it, that only complicates matters. We first start out by removing all of the exposed fasteners, then work to start peeling the sheet off of the main structural supports which happens to have been bonded with 3M VHB tape.

Now that the old panel is removed, we start the prep work in making sure that there are no burrs or protrusions that will leave dents in the newly installed nose sheet. One issue that this trailer had from day one when it was first built, was that the original sheet was only held in place at the top roof rail by a 3/8" slot, not the usual 1". This is what allowed the panel to buckle at the top roof rail in several areas, this was a design flaw from the factory that we had to contend with. The solution was to add HD stainless steel rivets to the front area of the nose sheet. We then had the new stainless nose sheet sheared to the exact measurements, preped and then wresteled into place by several assistants. Once all of the fasteners were installed, the protective covering was removed exposing the highly polished stainless steel sheet, followed up with some caulking and liberal amounts of windex.

Custom Boat Engine Cover

We were asked if we could replace the original engine cover / cushion on this 1984 Wellcraft boat, we said sure! The plywood decking under the cushions had some rotten wood around the hinge area and was ready to start falling apart the next season. We started by removing the covers from the boat so that we could work to remove the upholstery on the work bench. We were very careful to not damage the original upholstry because the owner knew that it would be impossible to match the vinyl to the rest of the interior. First we cut the new sections of plywood using the old pieces as templates, then we treated the wood with water repelant and then installed water drain holes near the hinge locations. That was followed up with a finish stain and a polyeuethane clear varnish giving the wood a custom classic look. After the foam and the updated upholstry was installed, the motor covers were re-installed back on the boat. Now the owner has an engine cover / cushion that will last another 28 years!

Terry Fifth Wheel Roof Replacement

Pictured is a Terry Fifth Wheel that had the misfortune of experiencing a tire blow out that forced the trailer off to the side of the road under a tree that caught the rubber roof membrane and peeled it back. The roof componets were removed then cleaned of old sealer for their re-installation later. Then the membrane was completely removed and the roof deck was prepped for the new EPDM membrane. Terry did a very nice job of using a thick roof decking material that made prepping the surface easy. Most manufacturers use a thin (1/8th inch) luan plywood that sometimes delaminates as the old EPDM membrane is removed, making the job more labor intensive and expensive. Once the roof deck is cleaned, we then applied the special adhesive and slowly rolled the new membrane in to place, being sure that no air was allowed to be trapped between the deck and membrane. Finally all the roof penetrations were cut open, vents, moldings and accessories were re-installed and sealed with a special self leveling sealer that bonds to the membrane. The owner now has a new roof that will be free of leaks and will need minimal future maintenance.

Splendide washer/dryer combo in Bloomer LQ

We were asked by a very loyal customer of ours (16 years) to see if we could install a washer/dryer combo unit in her horse trailer with living quarters. After measuring and checking for plumbing and electrical access, we determined that we would have no problem installing the unit. We began by removing existing cabinet work and saving what we removed so that we could reuse some parts for the remodel. The finished product gives the owner the convience of doing laundry while away at long horse shows and still maintains a factory installed appearance.

2007 Regal Cabin Cruiser Upgrades

We were commissioned to upgrade a Regal Cabin Cruiser that came from the manufacturer with out any air conditioning. We upgraded the craft with a 12,000 BTU Dometic unit with heat pump and all of the other needed componets to facilitate the air conditioner installation. Along with the condensor/evaporator unit, we also added the sea water pump, thru-hull strainer, sediment strainer, plumbing, thru-hull discharges, cold air ducting, return air grill and thermostat. The tricky part of this project was to maintain a factory installed appearance. We were able to use all of the factory locations for the cold air discharge grills and the return air grills. The time consuming part of this job was fishing all of the insulated ducting, wiring and plumbing, because as most of you know, there is very little room to work and when the factory installs the AC unit, they do it before the top deck is installed. While the craft was in for its AC install, we also added the following upgrades, wash down pump and sprayer, Ray Marine fish finder, Doplar radar, Sirius satelite radio, additional house battery and serviced the engines and lower out drive units. The finished product was a factory quality installation and many user friendly additions that enhance the boating experiance for the owners!
